Newton B. White, Jr.

Newton White is an attorney whose practice includes negotiating and drafting business agreements relating to software, computers, the Internet, e-commerce and intellectual property.

Mr. White has been in solo practice since 1995.  Previously, he practiced law with:

  • Weil, Gotshal & Manges, New York, from 1994 to 1995
  • Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, New York, from 1986 to 1994
  • Nutter, McClennen & Fish, Boston, from 1983 to 1986

Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. White was self-employed as a computer programmer and consultant - full time from 1982 to 1983 and part time while he was in school.

In 1982, Mr. White received a J.D. from Harvard Law School.  In 1979, he received an A.B. in Mathematics and Philosophy from Grinnell College.

He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts and is also admitted to practice as a Patent Attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. White's memberships in professional associations include the Computer Law Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the American Bar Association.
